《韦氏高阶》的确是这么说的，但这种说法好像欠妥。当主句谓语动词为will do 陈述语气时，if 从句是不能用were to do这种虚拟语气形式的。If 从句用 shoulddo时，主句可以用陈述语气、虚拟语气和祈使语气。建议网友忽视《韦氏高阶》这个讲解，了解if 从句用shoulddo表示以后条件时，主句可以用陈述语气will do即可。假如if 从句用 wereto do, 主句谓语动词需要含有情态动词过去形式，一般为would do.
